Week 15 Part A: Developing Your Marketing Strategy

  • The main social media platforms that we will integrate into my business are Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter. Instagram and Facebook are perfect for our business as we are a media company that focuses on photography/videography. We can showcase our work on Insta & FB and have our potential clients see our work there and follow us if they choose. Twitter can also be used to showcase some of our work but we will want to use it more as a communication tool that we can use to see what our clients/audience is thinking or how they feel about things. We can also take surveys or let our audience know about new and exciting things that we plan to offer. Some tools that we definitely use in our online marketing strategy is Yelp, Google My Business, Google Analytics, & Facebook Ads/Analytics. The reason that we are going to implement these tools is that they are important and have things that we need to look for to create a more effective marketing strategy. Yelp and Google My Business will help in getting seen by people who use these apps to check reviews of places, actually, a client of mine recently asked if we had a Yelp and was willing to give us a review. So no doubt having a place where potential clients could see reviews of our clients will be a great benefit. Google Analytics and Facebook Analytics will help track traffic from social media to our website and vice versa, it overall helps keep a record of what sources are working and which aren't and helps us focus on what matters.

  • I enjoyed using Instagram and Facebook the most, mainly because it was so easy to use and it had a lot of beneficial tools for posting. Since they work together it is really easy to use one or both and prepare content for both. You can schedule posts from Facebook to post on to Instagram or FB, which is much easier to use than you might think. It also frees up time to do other important marketing things that need to be taken care of.

  • For my business, I think that we should probably spend about 1-2 hours per day working on social media marketing. This time will be parted into different parts, the first part is coming up with the content that we use on our social media. This will be a mix of content that we create and content that we get from shooting photos for real estate. The second part of this time will be used to get our posts scheduled and timely on each platform that we use. Also continuously look to improve our social media. Taking all that into consideration it is going to be beneficial for us to spend an hour or two a day to make sure that everything is set, new content is being produced, and making sure our social media is being used effectively.
