Week 9 Part A: Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts & Webinars

What would work for your business?

I think that blogs and vlogs would work the best. Vlogs can be very useful in showing what is like to work with us and what we actually do, we can take our clients through the process. Blogs work great also cause we can show why certain services are beneficial and they can help our clients with understanding what services they need or may want.

When does it make sense to add a personal touch to a post, and when does it not? How would it work for your business.

Adding personal touches and human interests to posts can really make the difference between getting a new client or customer and not getting them. Some people like to be attracted by stories of others or being related to when being marketed at, which is something that every company should try to do at certain times to see if it works for their target audience. Knowing when to add those personal touches in a post can be tricky and especially when doing it for the first time. Adding personal touches or showing human interests is very beneficial when you can relate to someone deep inside them and what matters most to them, especially in times like this where people want to be heard and understood so by conveying that you hear them and understand them that can make a huge difference in the way that they see you. There are certain times and industries that creating social posts may not be the norm or a possibility for them, they may need to show human touch or a personal touch in a different way. There are times that the conversation doesn't warrant a personal touch which at those times it may be best to not add that extra touch as it could do more harm than good. I think personally it will be a bit hard for me to know when and when not to add those personal touches. I think the way that we will make sure that it is the right time to add personal touches and other things like that is to have several members of our organization approve posts to make sure that it isn't just from ones person's point of view.

  1. Hey Caleb, I definitely agree with you because I personally think people these days want more of a human connection instead of the typical professional stuffy robotic responses. I think it's very beneficial to add personal touches because it gives people insight into your personality and for them to relate to you some way as you said.

  2. I agree, adding a personal touch can be tricky. Something that was good and positive for you may not be for the reader or viewer.

  3. I like how you said that adding a personal touch can help people relate and see what really matters most to them. I feel like this is exactly what happens when I can relate to a certain product or business. I build a connection with the business and see what type of business they really are. It helps differentiate between the business that actually care and the ones who just want your money.
