Week 14 Part B: What we Learn from FaceBook Analytics

What can we learn from Facebook analytics? There is a lot that we can learn from Facebook Analytics and vary on the information available we can understand our page, our audience, and our posts. My Facebook page doesn't have more than 100 likes so I can not get the full scoop on my page, so I will be using Aztec Brewing Company Facebook Analytics for this assignment.

Page summary has 9 areas of interest, the first being actions on the page, this tells you how many people have clicked on the button on your page, and in this case, it is a send message button. For the period of  April 8, 2021 - May 5, 2021, there were 5-page actions or 5 in other words there were five people who pressed the send message button. Why is this important? Well, this is important to understand because we can begin to test different buttons and learn which ones work best over a period of time, and we can then keep the best on as the main button. The next area is page views, which is pretty self-explanatory, but it tells us how many people have look at our page. During this period Aztec Brewing has had 336 views on its page. However, this is 72% down from what I am assuming is the prior period. Seeing this leads us to question why, was it because of something we did, external issues, and other potential downfalls. Page likes, another self-explanatory section, tell how many people have liked our page over the certain time period. In this case, there were only 15 likes over the period of time, which was down 40% from the previous period, this leads us to question have we changed our content, why are people not liking our content, or are just posting at the wrong time that our content isn't getting out there. This leads us to the fourth section which is post reach, or the number of people that say our post/content. In this period it was 6,323 which was up 28% over the prior period which is really good, but it leads us to question, how come it is up over 28% but our followers is down, more than likely it is because more followers are seeing the content that is being posted so since they have already liked it there is no need to like it again. One thing is for people to see your posts but it is a whole other thing for people to engage with your content, which leads us to post engagement, which was 821 and an increase of 34% over the prior period. That means that your posts have had a 34% increase in reactions, shares, comments and clicks over the prior period which is amazing and now we can even go deeper into what posts did the best and post more of those.

Let's take a look at page followers, now these are pretty simple they just tell us how many people have followed and unfilled us each day over the period and looking at these number during the period of April 8, 2021 - May 5, 2021, Aztec Brewing lost a net 2 followers. Each day they gained about one or two but they also lost about one or two. This is good for us to know as we can see what days we gain the most and from what type of posts but also see why people are unfollowing or unliking.

Next, let's take a look at recent posts. This shows us a quick insight into 5 of our most recent posts. From looking at it we can see that photos performed the best, better than links or just words. How much better? About 35-40% better than the link and about 130% better than just words. It also tells us how many clicks, reactions, comments, and likes we received on each post.

Following, how can we understand exactly how people interact with our posts and page? Well, there is a tab for that which is the reactions, comments, shares, and more. This section tells us how many reactions we have obtained on each day of the period, and is divided up by reactions, comments, shares, and other. It can even go one step further to show what kind of reactions you are receiving, of course, the like is the one that is most used.

Finally, let's take a look at the audience. We can see what days our audience is online and at what time they are online. When we dig deeper we can see insights into our fans, and in this case, there is a split of 35% women and 64% men, and it even tells shows us the age ranges where a percentage of each is. It tells us what countries they are from, what city, and even what language. This information is displayed on fans, followers, people reached, and people engaged.

Overall, there is a lot that Facebook Analytics offers that we didn't cover that can be useful in campaigns and effective Facebook marketing. These tools help us grow brands and businesses. Learning them is important since it allows us to see where we need improvement and how we can make those improvements.
