Week 5 Part B: Learning about FaceBook Data Collecting

1. Reach and engagement are critical to understanding how a page or post is doing in its community and provide areas in which it could improve upon. Reach tells you how many people have seen your post but may not have had an interaction will your post. Depending on your goal of each post reach or engagement is what you would be shooting for. If you want as many people to see your post or page then reach is your goal, you want to have as many eyes to see your post. This is very important as a startup as you need to get people aware of your business. Engagement on the other hand can help grow a strong customer base which is important in any stage of business. Each serves its purpose but in identifying key metrics on how you post or page is doing on social media.  

2. Understanding these metrics can help better your business and how it uses social media. One main reason that understanding metrics can help is seeing where you can refine that marketing strategy or if you need to scrap it altogether, this is giving you something that you can measure and fine-tune to make it as efficient as possible. Insights help the business to identify the best times to post in the future since it shows when your fans have been on looking at your posts in the past and then you can post again in the future at that same time. Insights also is where you can see reach and engagement a post had which also shows how you are doing with that campaign and if you are hitting your goal. Insights also allow you to identify who is your audience that is being drawn to your post which can something very useful in maybe offering a product or promotion in a way that they will like it and not just a general way.
