Week 2 Part B - Business Research

Waterless

Waterless created a system that allows for urinals to not need water and they also created the cleaner to clean the urinal. They are a corporation and they are international. They are based right here in Vista. 

From looking at their website I was able to see that they use Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Their Facebook is used quite frequently as their last post was on February 2nd and it seems like they post about every other day or so. Their Twitter on the other hand has not been used since October 20th. Their Linkedin has been used quite a bit as well and their most recent post was on February 2nd. They have 601 followers on FB, 605 followers on Twitter, and 96 followers on Linkedin. 
From what I can tell they do not seem to communicate or interact with people on their social media but I believe its due to the fact nobody comments so there is not really a need to interact, they do use Facebook and Linkedin quite a bit about every few days or so. On Twitter, they have not posted in about 6 months and don't use it that often. They can improve by interacting with their followers more on Facebook and Twitter and tweet more. 

Sloan


Sloan is a pretty big company and is an international company that is trying to create water-efficient products such as urinals and faucets. 

On their website, they have links to all their social media platforms which include FB, Insta, Twitter, YT, & IN. The last time they posted on their FB was February 5th, their Twitter was on February 5th, their Instagram was on February 6th, their Youtube was more than 3 months ago, and their Linkedin was on February 5th. Their Facebook has over 4000 followers and they post about every day. Their Twitter has just over 1400 followers and they post just about every day. Their Instagram has about 1600 followers and they post just about every other day. Their Youtube Channel has just over 1900 followers and they post about every few months. Their Linkedin has about 19,200 followers and they post on there about every other day. 
I wouldn't say that they communicate well using social media just because nobody is commenting or interacting with them so at the moment they aren't. They are definitely using the main social medias most often the only one that they don't use that often is Youtube. 

Aerial 9 Media 



Aerial 9 Media is an LLC which is a Real Estate Photography company, they offer photos, videos, aerial and From what I can tell Aerial 9 Media mainly seems to work in the San Deigo county so it's not too big but they seem like they are busy so they must be doing pretty well. 

Their social media platforms are linked at the bottom of their website, they have linked Insta, FB, IN, and Vimeo. Their Instagram has about 2300 followers and they post about every day, and their last post was on February 7th. Their Facebook has about 1200 followers and they post about every day and their last post was on February 6th. Their Linkedin Profile has 6 followers and they post about every other day and their last post was on February 6th. Their Vimeo has 27 followers and seems like they post whenever they have a video for a client. 
From what I can see not that many people on their social media so they don't have many chances of interacting with their followers, but the posts with comments they didn't respond to them or say something about their comment.   

Josh Mark Photography 



Josh Mark Photography is a photography company that is national and offers its services in 12 major cities in the US. They offer real estate photography, 3D tours, portrait shots, and event shots. 

The social media platforms that they use are FB, Twitter, Insta, and In. Their Facebook has 304 followers but has not posted since December 12th, 2016, so they do not use their Facebook at all. Their Instagram has 47 followers and their last post was on December 23rd, 2018, which means they have not posted and are not using this Instagram account. Their Twitter has 18 followers and hasn't posted since June 28th, 2013. I was not able to see their Linkedin but I don't think they have posted there in a while like their other platforms. I found these links at the bottom of their website so I assume these are the main ones but I don't know why they haven't posted in such a long time. 
They should be posting quite a bit since they are a Photography company many of their clients would want to see that they are active on social media which could build their brand possibly bring in more clients. 

FootBrava



FootBrava is a local real estate and architectural photographer. They offer photos, aerial images, and virtual tours. They offer their services in Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and all over San Diego County.

The social media platforms that they are using are FB, Instagram, and Twitter. Their Facebook page has 838 followers and their last post was on April 25th, 2020, and didn't really post a whole lot before then. Their Instagram has 9 followers and they last posted on December 9th, 2020. Their Twitter has 25 followers and their last post was on December 9th, 2020.
They don't post so they can't really communicate or interact with people. 

Overall

    Overall this analysis of these 5 companies is a reminder of how important social media is in creating a brand and business. Most of these companies do not have strong social media brands and improving their social media may improve their business and customer loyalty. The one company that I believe did the best on their social media is Aerial 9 Media for being a local company they have a very strong presence compared to their competition and even bigger companies. This assignment can help me personally to see that social media can help me and my business, I personally find it a bit hard to post on social media but starting this class I am hoping to be able to post more often on my business pages so that I can show my work and grow my clientele. 
    
    Looking at each page you can see what is working for the company and what is not and what can they do to increase engagement and interact with their followers. Looking at what is working on some of these companies' social media’s and analyzing to see how I can implement that into my own social media, that can really help me build my brand and social media platforms.

    I like how you mentioned being able to see what is and what isn't working for these businesses I think that is so important. Aerial 9 is doing an amazing job updating their social media at least once a day, a lot of the one's that I researched myself were not able to do that and they were also small, local companies. What type of business are you looking into creating in the future? Overall, I enjoyed reading your post and hearing about these new companies, I have never heard about them before reading your post. The most surprising one that you researched is Josh Mark Photography, I am shocked that they haven't posted on Twitter since 2013. You would think as a photography company that they would be posting more to gain more business.
